After graduating from university with a Bachelor of Commerce, Steve spent 12 years working his way up through executive management positions in his capacity as a Chartered Accountant. During this time, he was exposed to a large number of industries, including mining, tourism, construction, government, financial services, training, employment services, and indigenous affairs.

It was during this time that Steve developed a passion not only for business, but for using his skillset to help the community. This varied exposure has helped Steve appreciate the motivational benefit of working within industries where you can come home at the end of the day with the knowledge that you have helped make somebody’s life better.

As soon as Steve was aware of the possibility to acquire a Right at Home franchise in his adopted home of Cairns, he jumped at the chance, seeing it as an ideal opportunity to outwork these passions in a meaningful way—providing a quality service much needed by the citizens of Far North Queensland. Steve has been working in the role of Managing Director for RAHFNQ since its opening in May 2018 and is proud of the achievements the team has accomplished in this time. This started with winning the Right At Home Australia ‘Rookie of the Year’ Award in its first year of operations and the awards have continued ever since, remaining one of the largest and most awarded franchises within the Right at Home Australia network.

In 2025, Steve and Joylene were honoured by being nominated with Fellowship to the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), a rare honour acknowledging their involvement and dedication to their local community, accounting, and the industry.

Joylene has a heart to serve her community. In addition to being mother to a young family, Joylene devotes much of her free time volunteering her skills to different charities in her beloved home city of Cairns.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Joylene has not only a strong technical skillset ideal for managing and operating businesses, but also a gifted administrator. Through her career, Joylene held management positions in several accounting firms prior to branching out and accepting the opportunity to be the Chief Financial Officer of a local private school. In addition to all of this, Joylene has volunteered on the Board of Directors of three local not-for-profit entities at various times.

As Executive Director of Corporate Services, Joylene uses her vast skillset to oversee the office processes for RAHFNQ, including compliance, human resources, scheduling, and finance. Her attention to detail and desire for excellence ensures that the clients of RAHFNQ attain only the best quality of care.

Joylene’s passion for the industry brought her to the decision to undertake her Diploma of Nursing, which she completed in 2025, meaning that Joylene is now also a qualified and registered enrolled nurse.
